Don’t Stop When You are Tired, Stop When you are Done

Okay, so you feel like you’re at the end of the rope. You find yourself short-sighted reaching at one point. You feel like throwing yourself in the towel at times. Well, if this happens, you ain’t alone!

That most people I know don’t realize that it’s their brain that tells ‘you won’t be able to go on forever’, but your body can withstand far more. Remember you’ve got enough miles in the tank to make it to the finish line.

The Success killer

I hear from individuals saying, “they definitely want to do this, but they want to do it later". And this goes on until several weeks. Procrastination is a problem that persists when we feel tired of our efforts.

Putting things off till tomorrow will never get you closer to your goals. You have to do it now, you’ve to keep pushing!

Making it work for you: Don’t Quit on Yourself

Quitting on yourself is something you’ll do when you’re tired and trust me it is one thing you’ll never forgive yourself for this.

Remember the time when you cried through the night into your pillow thinking it would never get any better? Well, it did.

Remember the time when you broke up and think you couldn’t live without them? Look at you, you’re still breathing.

Remember the time when you thought life is unfair and you wanted to give up? Well, you’re still here.

You are so resilient, so tough! So, why quit now. Here’s how you should keep going on if anytime you feel you should QUIT.

How to Keep Going

  • "He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" has been attributed to Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanack. Only surround yourself with people who influence you positively.
  • Learn how to manage the time you have. An effective time management system will make sure you never feel overburdened.
  • There’s always another opportunity. Because when one door closes, another door opens.
  • Get over over-thinking because solving a problem through thinking will make you more likely to quit.
  • Make things fun and have rewards in the end. Self-rewards is one good thing.
  • As Nike says ‘Just Do It’!

I know it’s hard to keep digging, but as Marilyn Monroe Quoted: “Don't stop when you're tired; stop when you're done.”

Start the process of keep going, I bet you will see that 2019 will shape up to become your best year yet. What makes you keep going in tough times? Let us know your experiences, good and bad!

Focus on the process, not the goal. You can control 100% your behaviour, but not always the exact outcome of the goal, so focus on what you can control, not what you can't.
