A List Of Useful Waste and Recycling Conveying Solutions

The world is going green, with Australia being no exception.

One of the best ways to help the environment is recycling. It extends into a complex area past separating waste materials. Recycling requires a lot of waste collection, bulk sorting, and oftentimes complex manufacturing. One thing all these phases need is a method for short-distance transportation. This conveyance will vary depending on the material being recycled. There is a myriad of different materials that are reprocessed or post-processed, and every field will need specialized machinery. Below is a shortlist of some of the popular conveying methods that help with waste removal and recycling.

Screw Conveyors

Screw conveyors use a spiral shaft that can transport materials either horizontally or on an inclined plane. They are often used with grain material that is fine, or coarse, or floury. They can be fitted with various materials so as to not crush the waste material if it is of light durability. This type of conveyor is particularly popular in animal feed mills, flour mills, and various food space industries. You can get them in single, double, and even triple conveyance systems which will help with speed and product adaptation. They are durable, reliable, and, most importantly, cost-efficient. Their drawback is their efficiency decreases at higher inclines, as they are slower than some of their different counterparts.

Belt Bucket Elevators

As the name suggests, belt bucket elevators are used to transport materials vertically. These elevators can be used with a very wide array of materials, as their size can be customized. As demonstrated by RUD Chain Technology and Lifting Solutions, these can be made to operate with virtually no sound. The buckets are made of high-temperature rubber compositions, which make them suitable for materials that are somewhat more fragile. Most models on the market are speed adjustable and are designed for longevity and durability.

Trough Chain Conveyors

Trough chain conveyors are suited for moving bulk, dust-free, coarser solids over long distances. They are often closed systems that allow for several intakes and outlets. They are designed for high wear and heat resistance, which is key given their operational nature. Depending on the material being transported,  the sidewall materials can be adjusted, which is an important cost factor. Most designs are easily dismounted for efficient maintenance access.

The world of converting solutions is nearly endless and many types of conveyors can be used for an array of materials. Choosing the right conveyor for the material being transported is not only ideal from an efficiency standpoint, but it will also help with cost optimization and preserve the machine’s longevity. While you may know the ins and outs of your field, many salespeople can help with material selection as they are more experienced given the multitude of clients they work with. As the designs tend to remain the same, the area where you can customize is the material used for various parts of the conveyor. Not only can this better performance, but it can also drastically reduce the initial cost of the machinery.
