2018: ummm, an interesting year. Can't say that I liked it very much personally, but I did learn a ton about myself and, especially, the communities I'm a part of and identify with. As I perform my annual review and retro of the year one of the most poignant lessons I've learned is that we don't treat ourselves with nearly the care that most of our executives treat their Ferraris. An expensive, inanimate object, that some would literally shoot another human in the face to preserve or keep from harm. And that's really sad commentary.
Actually cramming works to pass a test, and for millions of students that is the only goal for their education. Eighty-five percent of the students entering university in 2016 were doing so in order to get a qualification that would lead to a better job. For them, cramming works, because they have no intention to learn anything, just get a degree.
The title pretty much says it all. In my quest to help both applicants and CEOs fill top seats in a hot market I'm often aghast at the volume of crap resumes I see in the wild. Anything from inappropriate photos to long-ass "Objective" and "Skills" sections to conspicuous typos on the very resumes where people are claiming "highest attention to detail." Seriously. This is a mess.
We live in a complex world with a myriad of problems that need attention. We have what we need to seriously address them, but we have failed to develop what we most need - our human capital.
One of the major work in our spiritual journey is to discern true from false. That was the sin of Adam. When the snake approached Adam and Eve, he spoke the truth. He told them that they could eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge, the good and the evil. And it's true. But what the snake didn’t say, is it’s not the time yet. He spoke the truth, and then, he injected a big lie. That’s how we fall into all kinds of false illusions in our life. We see a little truth, but this truth conceals a big lie. What is a lie? First of all, it is disconnection from the light. It’s darkness, and darkness is Satan. Which one of us would follow Satan? If Satan will appear and say, I am Satan, I am negativity, I am death. Would anybody follow him? Yet we all follow him all the time; a major chunk of our life we fall into negativity. How come? Because Satan never appears as Satan. Negativity never appears as negativity. It always appears with some truth there. The only way you can convince somebody to believe in your lie is by giving him lots of truth beforehand. That’s why it’s so difficult to know. The only way to know, is through time. Because whatever comes from Satan is finite, and will eventually disappear. Many seemingly important things in life, good businesses, projects, people…will eventually disappear. Great things have no fear of time. Only that which comes from the light can keep on going. Because it is infinite. Even though it may seem to have disappeared, rejected or buried, it will eventually emerge again. Only that which is true will stand the test of time. © WECLUSTR.COM | Change Starts From Within | Spiritual Classes and Workshops in London
You advertise a job opening. You track down potential candidates on social media and at job fairs. You do background checks. You conduct structured interviews and pre-employment skills tests. You negotiate with the selected applicants. You go through tons of paperwork before the final on-boarding. But after pouring all that time and efforts, why do you think you have to sit in frustration as they pack their desk and walk out of the door.
