A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake rocked the eastern coast of Taiwan on Wednesday, marking the strongest seismic event to hit the region in a quarter-century.

The temblor has tragically claimed the lives of at least nine individuals, with rescuers tirelessly working to extricate numerous others who remain trapped beneath rubble and debris. However, the municipal government has affirmed that the majority of hospitals are functioning as usual, with only one facility experiencing prolonged service disruption due to power outages and structural damage.

In particular, the Tri-Service General Hospital Songshan Branch has temporarily suspended services as a result of power outages, ceiling collapses, and water leakages. Nevertheless, authorities are diligently working to restore full functionality to affected healthcare facilities, ensuring that essential medical services remain accessible to those in need.
