Penuma: Revolutionizing Male Sexual Health

Bigger is better — or is it? Seems like nearly half of all the men on planet Earth think so when it comes to what they’re packing in their pants. Are they wrong?

According to a study published in Psychology of Men and Masculinity, kinda. The majority of erect penises — 68% — measure between 4.6 and 6 inches long. Roughly 16% top 6.1 inches, approximately the same amount are shorter than 4.5 inches, and 2.5% come in under 3.7 inches.

But no one should have to go through life fearing they just don’t measure up. And that’s where Dr. James J. Elist and Penuma enter the chat.

Without going down the rabbit hole of why some men think bigger is better, there’s one thing for sure — a person’s body image is directly related to their confidence. For men, the size of their penis impacts not only how they feel in the bedroom, but also how they carry themselves through the world.

When you feel good about the way you look, you are more likely to relax and enjoy the sexual experience,” said Elist. “Taking steps to increase your confidence also leads to better communication with your partner. That results in a more satisfying experience for both of you and, consequently, a better relationship.”

Dr. James Elist’s Penuma — Boosting Confidence Since 2004

For some, penis enlargement may be the best solution. Given that most men think that they aren’t well endowed, it’s fair to assume that many have, at some point in their lives, scoured the internet for a solution. Yet, a quick Google search can bring up a plethora of unhelpful results, plus a list of cautions from medical professionals warning that penis enlargement tips are anecdotal and at best, temporary. However, there is one safe solution: Penuma, or as it’s now known, Himplant

Since 2004, thousands of men have received this penile implant for cosmetic male enhancement. Invented by Dr. James J. Elist in collaboration with a host of world-renowned urologists and scientists, Penuma is the first aesthetic penile implant cleared for commercial use under the 510(k) regulation by the Food and Drug Administration.

Elist has been running a private practice in Beverly Hills, California, since 1982. A urologist by training, he specializes in impotency, male sexual dysfunction, and infertility. After seeing thousands of patients, Elist came to the realization that in some cases, increasing confidence and creating a satisfying sexual experience for his clients meant they needed to get enhancements.

“It is an issue that men often avoid talking about, even when it is causing problems in their relationships,” he said. “My goal with Penuma was to give men a solution that could boost their confidence in the bedroom and in life.”

Elist speaks from experience. In his decades-long career, he’s trained surgeons across Europe and the Middle East. He’s also served as the chairperson on several committees at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, including the oncology, ethics, utilization, and medical records review committees — all of which brought him to his true calling of erasing the stigma surrounding male sexual health.

Penuma’s Dr. James Elist: ‘Taking a Toll on Men’s Relationships’

Elist laments the stigma around male sexual health and is actively trying to resolve that through his work. Penile issues can negatively impact mental well-being, self-esteem, and relationships. For this reason, it is a topic that deserves empathetic discussions.

Many men are very unhappy with their penis size,” Elist shares. “Lacking confidence in your penis size can impact self-esteem levels and confidence in the bedrooms, eventually taking a toll on a man’s relationships.

A lack of sex is often cited as a reason relationships fail. This lack of physical intimacy also leads to a decline in oxytocin levels in the body, the hormone responsible for lowering stress levels, meaning that couples who lack physical intimacy can experience higher stress levels.

Leveraging his years of experience, Elist has created an implant that can have natural-looking results and is effective. Penuma is made of soft medical-grade silicone that feels similar to a natural penis. Unlike most market solutions, the enlargement isn’t a short-term solution because it contains no liquid or gels, which tend to dissolve over time.

The inspiration came from studying breast implants and years of experience treating erectile dysfunction with prosthetics. When Elist was developing Penuma, the market was flush with temporary enhancements in the form of dermal grafts, fat injections, and fillers. He wanted to create a product that lasts longer, and soft silicone implants were the obvious choice because the body doesn’t reabsorb them.

The implant is inserted through a small incision along the scrotum, a procedure that typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. Called the “concealed scar” technique, the scrotum is a good choice because its texture results in little to no scarring. On average, patients see an average girth increase of up to 2 inches, and some also report increases in flaccid length.

When patients choose to get the Penuma implant, a select list of internationally recognized doctors provides them with customized and professional attention. Each patient is provided comprehensive information about what makes their case unique and how it will be handled, allowing them to make informed decisions

The surgeon then chooses the best implant size for the patients during the operation. Penuma comes in multiple sizes, including large, extra-large, and extra-extra-large. “Nobody wants a small,” said Elist, “so we don’t have a small and we don’t have a medium. We start from large.”

The complete process, from initial consultation to recovery, can take several months. There are risks involved, as is the case with any surgical procedure. However, testimonials by people who received the Penuma implant illustrate how their lives have improved since the surgery.

“Prior to the procedure, my life was full of insecurity regarding intimacy; it made me feel like avoiding sexual contact,” posted Brandyn K. “My life has changed 180 degrees. I no longer give sexual contact a second thought. It has given me confidence in intimacy with anyone. Life is good again.”

Wrote Marty C., “The penile shortening post-penile prosthesis insertion was impacting my life till my wife researched and found out about the Penuma.”

And Eric G. said, “This was a life-altering experience for me. Something I thought would be a burden in my life has changed since I went through the procedure.”
