The 38Kv models are quite robust, well-tested, and proven, and they have the capacity to even handle a higher voltage for a short period if needed. The newer metal-clad models on the market undergo hard tests and are by ASCE 7-10 standards. Most products come with additional accessories, making them quite universal and adaptable to specific needs and purposes. Last but not least, the HV models are usually meant for higher voltages and usually have specific industry requirements. All the types have their purpose and make up the versatility of switchgear. 

The Different Parts of the Switchgear

Yet, its regular maintenance is essential and paramount and can prevent any accidents from happening in the future. Routine inspections, the testing of protective devices, and the cleaning and tightening of some parts are just some of the many steps of maintenance. For this purpose, advanced diagnostics and tools are usually used, such as thermal imaging and partial discharge detection. These inspections also give you a good idea of any parts that might be defective and should be replaced on time.
