Speeding at Traffic Lights

Many negligent drivers see an amber light as an opportunity to speed up so they can cross the road before the light changes to red. Tailgating

Even if you follow all of the safe driving practices, there is always a chance that other drivers are not. If you are not paying attention to other drivers sharing the road, you cannot protect yourself from negligent or reckless drivers. 

You should always be aware of your surroundings and use your mirrors to check for reckless drivers. This can give you enough time to take measures and avoid a potential accident. You should also check your blind spots while merging or changing lanes to avoid colliding with another vehicle. 

Aggressive Driving 

Aggressive driving behavior means you are disregarding the safety of other road users. This behavior includes overspeeding, unnecessary honking, making obscene gestures, ignoring stop signs, or aggressive lane changing. Road rage is a common cause of aggressive driving. You can avoid this mistake by keeping calm regardless of what other drivers do on the road. 

Not Using Headlights During Inclement Weather 

Many drivers think they only need to use headlights at dusk or night, but that is not true. Drivers should also turn on their headlights during poor visibility conditions. Not only does this help them see better, but they also help other drivers see them. Rain, fog, and snow can reduce visibility for drivers, but keeping the vehicle’s headlights on during such weather can reduce the risk of accidents.
