“I love songwriting and collaborating. And, if I could, I’d be in the studio on a daily basis, probably spending my whole days there. It’s probably my favorite place to be after spending time with my mum.”—highly sought-after songwriter Jada Morandi Avezzu

Jada’s music. Sticks. In your head.

With one of her goals being to soon win a Grammy, songwriter Jada Morandi Avezzu loves the excitement of teaming up with or being mentored by award-winning and established talent, including: legendary multi-platinum producer Ronnie Jackson, Billboard chart-topping Felly (the Voice); talent like Jaylyn, who contributed to Usher’s Atlanta Bounce new hit “Good Good”; “phat” beat makers like Yeti Beats and Manmade. She also wrote some music with the producer of Grammy award winning and eclectic electronic duo, The Chainsmokers.

As a result of these collaborative interactions and her impactful work at Einnor Studios in Atlanta’s musical hotbed, Jada learned to value her strengths even more. For example, she emphasizes the work ethic that Jaylyn and Felly showed her: “They both inspired me as an artist as they lead by example and demonstrate the work ethic that’s needed in the industry. As I see my own hard work ethic as something that I bring to the table, it was helpful to see that reinforced by watching and working with Jaylyn and Felly.”

The Swiss-born songwriter experienced early success and fame when her music earned radio play on one of the most popular pop radio channels in Switzerland. She then collaborated with multiple Swiss-Italian and Albanian rappers and singers, with one of the subsequent videos from these collaborations gaining hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.

Even as a teenage songwriter, her music stuck in people’s heads. Consequently, that quality helped her attain an invitation to a boot camp with multiple Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi. More recently, Jada began working at the coveted Einnor Studios—Einnor is a magical place for A-list songwriters, artists and producers to gather and create, and Jada was immersed in all that creative energy.

Now, through her hard-won effort and application, she’s secured a non-exclusive Licensing Representation with Songmill, a leading song catalog. Jada has also worked and is credited on film productions for MegaMind Media. Additionally, Jada played an integral part in Sammie’s album L.A.W. and, on Lindita’s single and EP, plus her upcoming album.

With other exciting opportunities calling, like her songs being pitched to several A&Rs throughout the U.S., Jada is looking to another music hotbed, Los Angeles, stating “The truth is, I wake up every day and feel the need to write and record songs. I don’t think I could live without it and I think that’s where my hard work and eagerness to succeed comes from. It’s not an option for me not to do this in life.”

Jada Morandi Avezzu talks up what she brings to the table and what beckons for her.

How did pop star Demi Lovato’s Camp Rock movie influence you?

I wrote my first song when I was 11 years old right after I watched the Camp Rock movie starring Demi Lovato. Seeing Demi Lovato’s character write her songs in her little yellow book was shocking to me because I didn’t even know “songwriters” existed! I also learned that writing songs (for other people) was actually a “thing”. Her character also didn’t have that much money to support her dream. So, she had to find ways to attend the camp such as helping her mother in the kitchen and that was also very impactful to me because that taught me that: “When there’s a will, there’s always a way.”

Overall, how does it feel to write and then get in the studio to record?

I chose to start my career as a songwriter, based on following Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels’ footsteps—she’s written songs for artists like Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, and Demi Lovato, one of my childhood heroes. I felt that starting as a songwriter comes with a different respect from the professionals in the industry. A lot of times, female vocalists seem to be seen as just that and that’s something I was very against. I wanted to establish myself as a versatile talent, who can write and record her own music, and also play a central role in contributing to the success of others' music. I am happy to say I achieved just that. Now, songwriting and recording inspires me and makes me feel empowered and absolutely alive. It makes me feel talented, and just happy, it’s that simple. It also brings me joy and the love I have for music just makes me completely forget that it’s also my ‘job/work.’

What does songwriting allow you to do for others?

It allows me to entertain, inspire and reach out to others across the world. Depending on what type of song it is, I tend to write songs with a clear intent of inspiring, affecting emotionally, and empowering others. If I’m able to touch even one person who has gone through similar or worse personal experiences than me, then I would definitely feel satisfied and be proud of myself as a creative person. I highlight empowering because I have been writing a lot lately with the intent to empower women, having gone through a recent breakup, and having dealt with toxic relationships, I think that just came very naturally.

What are the special assets you bring to the table?

My multicultural background makes me unique, the fact that I speak several languages and can write and sing in several languages, is a major contribution to making me an invaluable and unique asset in the industry. Additionally, I think working hard, being ambitious and always striving for more has really helped me achieve the success that I have in my career so far. I do think that successful individuals, whether they are in the music industry or another, really notice that and appreciate it. They are, in a way, more motivated to help out, collaborate, and give you the right advice to get to where I wanted to get. Overall, making yourself a necessity in production is also a great way of getting called to work consistently, which I pride myself on being for any production that I am involved with.

How did your songwriting collaboration with Sammie on his L.A.W. record also lead you to contribute to the marketing process?

I was a part of the songwriting team for the album and I was the named co-writer on several songs. I did the marketing mostly for fun, because as an artist myself, I love to “play” with social media and post my own content. So, as part of my overall collaborative effort, I thought it would be fun to do some “marketing” for Sammie. For example, I increased his TikTok page from 1000 followers to more than 20K followers. This experience taught me that consistency is key and nothing is impossible, you just got to put in the work.

What cool things happened with your collaborations with Felly and Jaylyn?

Felly has been instrumental in guiding me in this industry. One day I was having a one-on-one conversation with him and I remember feeling very helpless as personal reasons were affecting my creativity, leading me to feel blocked. Felly was able to help me through that and give me that confidence back. I’m obviously so grateful to him for all his advice, but he also inspires me because he’s such a hard worker. He’s been in this industry for over 10 years and to me, that just shows how important consistency, self-belief, and determination play a part in success. Another songwriter I look up to is Jaylyn, as not only is she a writer I work with, but we’ve become friends. She’s also one of the hardest workers I know in this industry. She told me about certain sacrifices she’s made to be able to pursue songwriting when she got started off in the industry.

So, Jada, what’s upcoming?

One of my goals is to win a Grammy, for sure, but reaching and impacting audiences is also a very important factor when it comes to my songwriting. With the experiences I’ve been through in premium recording studios like Einnor, I now know how to produce and engineer myself. I look forward to continuing my collaborations with more outstanding artists and organizations within the industry, and perhaps releasing my own music, in the near future.
