The recall impacts a total of 3,878 Cybertrucks, priced at approximately $61,000 (£48,320) each, manufactured between November 2023 and April 2024. According to a notification from the US Department of Transportation, a trapped accelerator pedal poses the threat of unintentional acceleration, thereby elevating the risk of collisions. The issue arises from the accelerator pad, which, under significant pressure, can dislodge and become lodged within the truck's interior trim. Tesla has pledged to rectify the problem at no cost, as outlined in its filing with the US government.
